Terms and Conditions of Ticket Sale and Event Attendance

  1. What’s in these Terms?

    These terms and conditions (“Terms”) apply to your purchase of tickets for the Cardano Summit 2024 (“Event”), registration for the Event, and attendance of the Event. The Event is scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 October 2024 at the Intercontinental & Crowne Plaza Festival City Event Centre, PO45777 Dubai, 45777 UAE. The Event is organised by Morgan Travel Limited trading as “First Event” (“First Event” or “the Event organiser/s”), acting as the event organiser and official ticket seller for the Cardano Foundation. By registering for the Event, purchasing tickets for the Event and/or attending the Event, you agree to be bound by these Terms and the terms and conditions of use of the Event’s website, and acknowledge the content of the privacy policy applicable to it.

  2. Who we are and how to contact us

    Morgan Travel Limited t/a First Event is a company registered at Ghyll Beck House, Gill Lane, Yeadon, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS19 7SE. First Event is the organiser of the Event and the official seller of tickets for the Event. In these terms “we” or “us” refers to First Event and the Cardano Foundation jointly.     Cardano Foundation (Cardano Stiftung) is the entity hosting the Event. It is a not for profit organisation registered at Dammstrasse 16, 6300 Zug, Switzerland that is dedicated to act as an objective, supervisory and educational body for the Cardano Protocol and its associated ecosystem.

  3. The Event

    1. Depending on the ticket type chosen, you may have access to different sub-events during the Event. 
    2. Sponsors may host additional events, or “side-events”, at the same time as the Event, which we are not responsible for. While we may refer to these on our website, we do not organise these side-events and will not be held liable for any claims whatsoever which relate to those side-events. 
    3. The location of various sub-events is subject to change, we will endeavour to inform you of any changes to the program in advance of the event.

  4. Registration and Purchase of Tickets

    1. When you register for the Event, you provide us with your personal data. You confirm that your data provided when registering are accurate and up to date. We process this personal data to register you for the Event, to facilitate the Event and to comply with local regulations. Please refer to section 6 of these Terms for more information on our use of your personal data.
    2. By registering for the Event, you assume full responsibility for all information provided to us on registration. We accept no responsibility for the information received from you, including for the sending of tickets to an incorrect email address provided by you. Should you wish to update your contact information after successful receipt of a ticket, you may do so through the link sent to you on registration.     3. First Event is the official seller of tickets for the Event and is responsible for all aspects of ticket sales, including facilitating payments and for the administration of tickets. Additional payment terms may apply when you make payment through the applicable merchant. 
    4. Ticket prices quoted do not include payment charges or booking fees. You are responsible for payment of your own costs for attending the Event, including travel, accommodation and visa application costs.
    5. Ticket prices, plus all applicable payment and tax charges, are due on registration for the Event. 
    6. Tickets are not refundable, transferable or exchangeable. If not purchased from an authorised outlet, tickets may be declared void and will not guarantee entry to the Event. If we have reason to believe that tickets are being resold, or that you provide us with inaccurate information, we reserve the right to cancel the affected tickets. 
    7. Ticket holders may not be permitted access to the Event if their details do not match those on the ticket. Please note that duplicate tickets cannot be issued in any circumstances.
    8. Tickets may be restricted to a maximum number per person. We reserve the right to cancel tickets purchased in excess of this number.
    9. We are unable to accept any liability or replace any tickets lost, stolen or damaged after they have been received by you.
    10. If you wish to upgrade your ticket purchase, you may request this change by following the instructions sent to your email address when you receive your initial ticket. Change requests are not guaranteed and may be refused at our discretion for any reason. 
    11. There is no obligation to refund monies or exchange tickets if the program of the Event is altered or cancelled due to circumstances beyond the event  organiser’s or our own reasonable control. We cannot guarantee a refund (in full or in part) if, for any reason, the program of the Event is altered. If the program of the Event is altered, for any reason, these Terms will apply to the altered Event, unless we notify you otherwise. 
    12. There is no obligation to refund monies or exchange tickets should the Event organiser subsequently offer any discount or promotion that makes tickets available at a price lower than that previously paid by any customer.
    13. If the Event is rescheduled, changed, moved or cancelled, we cannot be held responsible for any resulting costs you may incur for travel, accommodation and other related goods, services or compensation.
  5. Attendance of the Event

    1. Ticket holders agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Event venue(s), the Event organiser and by applicable laws of the country in which the Event takes place and other regulations applicable from time to time. We encourage you to peruse the FAQs on the Event’s website, in addition to doing your own research as to the requirements of the host country of the Event and how they apply to you.
    2. Venue management and the Event organiser reserve the right to refuse entry to the Event, and may conduct security searches as they deem appropriate. Should you be refused entry for any reason, including but not limited to your attire, we are not liable to refund you for the ticket you have purchased. Venue management and the Event organiser may, at their discretion, remove you from the Event or cancel the Event or sub-events should they deem it necessary for the safety of attendees or in order to comply with local authorities. This includes removal of attendees if they are behaving dangerously or inappropriately.
    3. You are advised to check if the venue has a last entry time. Event ticket holders may not be admitted after this time.
    4. If any part of the Event, including sub-events, is planned to take place outdoors, it will take place regardless of weather conditions unless otherwise directed by the venue or the Event organiser. We recommend that attendees dress appropriately for outdoor activities.
    5. Ticket holders consent to filming, sound recording and photography as members of the audience at the Event, and give the Event organiser and Cardano Foundation the right to use any such material for marketing and related purposes.
    6. Neither we, nor the event organisers or venue, will accept responsibility for any personal belongings brought to the Event. Please take care of your belongings.
    7. Animals may not be brought to the Event, with the exception of service animals per the venue rules. 
  6. Use of Personal Information

    1. The terms of our privacy policy apply in addition to these Terms with respect to the use of the Event’s website. 
    2. When you register for the Event, you provide us with certain personal data, including:
      1. Name 
      2. Contact information
      3. Nationality, country of residence
      4. Dietary requirements
      5. Accessibility requirements
      6. Job title and function
      7. Reasons for attending the Event 

        Speakers may provide us with additional information detailed below:

        1. Passport information 
        2. Emirates ID
        3. Support staff contact information
        4. Social media usernames or URLs
        5. Travel itinerary 
        6. Resume
    3. Personal data which is collected at the Event itself may include photographs, your name, social media domain, your employer and your contact information. We may also make and store a recording of your voice and likeness should you appear in our promotional videos or other live filming at the Event. We may use photographs and recordings of you for our marketing purposes in connection with the Event, and may share them with the Event organiser and sponsors for the purpose of promotion of the Event. 
    4. We collect your name and contact information in order to issue you a ticket and so that you may attend the Event. You provide us with your dietary requirements and accessibility requirements so that we can endeavour to accommodate these and improve your experience of the Event. We collect information relating to your nationality, country of residence and passport (for speakers)  to comply with local regulations of the host country of the Event. We collect information relating to your job title and function, and your reasons for attending the Event so that we can improve your experience at the Event and for our marketing purposes. We may, at your request, assist you with obtaining accommodation for the Event and will use your personal data to do so. We may collect additional information relating to speakers’ travel itineraries, passport information, Emirates ID, and support staff contact information in order to assist with arrangements for speakers’ attendance of the Event.
    5. Where you provide this personal data on behalf of another person, you warrant that you comply with applicable regulations in doing so. 
    6. We may share this information with certain third parties for the purpose of facilitating the Event. This includes IT service providers, marketing agencies, facilitators, destination managers, the venue, local authorities, security personnel, and any other service provider involved in the Event Specifically, local authorities require information relating to attendees’ names, nationality, contact email and country of residence in order to permit the Event taking place.
    7. Personal data may be transferred to, and stored in, a country outside the European Economic Area (EEA), i.e. worldwide, in particular Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the UAE and the USA. This may be done to, inter alia, facilitate the Event with service providers  and assist you with registration for the Event and comply with local regulations. By registering for the Event or otherwise delivering us with your personal information for your attendance of the Event, you consent to the transferral of your data as described above. 
    8. You may also be able to share your personal information with attendees and sponsors for networking purposes via a mobile application and a scannable QR code, use of these is voluntary. 
    9. Should you wish to withdraw your consent to our collection of your personal data for the purposes in these Terms, please email [email protected] and [email protected]. If you wish to withdraw your consent to our use of your personal data, please note that we may not be able to guarantee your entry to the Event and your ticket may be invalidated. 
  7. Waiver and General

    1. In no event shall we, the Event organiser or other subcontractors, be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of or in connection with your registration for the Event, purchase of tickets or attendance of the Event, even if we have been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. 
    2. You waive any and all claims related to the Event, including but not limited to registration for the Event and attendance of the Event, howsoever arising, against First Event and/or the Cardano Foundation. The maximum extent of First Event and/or the Cardano Foundation’s liability is limited to the applicable ticket price, less any tax or administrative fees.
    3. Attendance of the Event is entirely at your own risk and neither First Event or the Cardano Foundation shall be liable for any losses in connection therewith. 
    4. You are advised that content related to the Event is uploaded to the Event’s website by third parties. We endeavour to monitor this for accuracy and decency but are not liable for this information.
    5. You will be responsible for obtaining your own travel insurances, you warrant that you will obtain all the necessary insurances in respect of your attendance of the Event. 
    6. We may translate these Terms into other languages for your convenience. The English language version is the version that governs these Terms. In case of any conflict between the English language version and a translated version, the English language version will prevail.
    7. We do not accept any liability for any losses or claims arising from any inability to access the website, any interruption or any failure to complete a transaction.
    8. Should you have a complaint about the Event, we will take this up internally provided you have contacted us within 48 hours of the Event taking place. We cannot guarantee any outcome.
    9. Should any portion of these Terms be held as invalid or unenforceable by a court or competent authority, the affected term will be severable from the remainder of these Terms. Any relaxation of a right or indulgence granted by the Cardano foundation or First Event to you in respect of these terms shall not be construed as a waiver of that right. 
    10. These Terms are governed by Swiss law. The sole place of jurisdiction for any disputes arising from these Terms shall be Zug, Switzerland.
